Multi-user Conversations and Owner Joining

MyPersonas supports seamless collaboration between AI clones and their human owners through live conversation joining. This powerful feature enables real-time handoffs when expertise beyond the AI's knowledge is needed.

How It Works

When a MyPersona encounters a question it cannot fully answer, it automatically contacts the owner for assistance. The owner can then join the conversation directly, creating a multi-participant session where both the AI clone and human expert collaborate to provide the best possible support.

Interface Changes During Multi-user Sessions

When an owner joins a conversation, the interface adapts to accommodate multiple participants:

The interface displays both the user (if camera enabled) and the owner in separate video feeds

The chat maintains full conversation history, clearly showing when the owner joined

MyPersona Behavior in Multi-user Calls

During multi-user sessions, MyPersonas follow specific interaction rules:

  1. Deference to Owner: The AI steps back to allow the owner to lead the conversation
  2. Name-based Activation: The MyPersona only responds when explicitly addressed by name (e.g., "Hey Michael, who are the speakers?")
  3. No Unsolicited Responses: Simple acknowledgments like "thank you" won't trigger AI responses unless directed at the MyPersona

Configuration Options

This feature is enabled by default for all MyPersonas but can be configured:

Toggle multi-user capabilities on or off in the MyPersona edit settings

  • Enabled: Owners can join conversations via email links
  • Disabled: Email notifications are sent without join links; no multi-user sessions

Getting Started

To enable owner joining for your MyPersona:

  1. Navigate to the MyPersona edit interface
  2. Scroll to the "In-call users" setting
  3. Toggle the feature on or off based on your needs
  4. Save your changes

When enabled, owners will automatically receive notifications for questions the MyPersona cannot fully address, with the option to join the conversation instantly.
