Multilingual Support in MyPersonas

MyPersonas breaks down language barriers by enabling natural conversations in any language. Your digital experts can seamlessly communicate with users worldwide, automatically detecting and responding in the user's preferred language without any additional configuration.

Overview

MyPersonas includes built-in multilingual capabilities that allow:

  • Automatic Language Detection: Personas recognize and respond in the language being used
  • Seamless Language Switching: Users can change languages mid-conversation
  • Natural Voice Support: Both text and voice interactions work across all supported languages
  • Consistent Expertise: Knowledge and personality remain consistent regardless of language

How It Works

MyPersonas automatically detects the language of incoming messages and responds accordingly. This happens whether users:

  • Type messages in different languages
  • Speak to the persona using voice input
  • Switch languages during a conversation

No special configuration required - multilingual support is enabled by default for all personas.

Default Behavior

When a user interacts with a MyPersona:

  1. Initial Language: The persona greets users in the default language (typically English)
  2. Language Detection: As soon as a user sends a message in another language, the persona automatically switches
  3. Conversation Continuity: The persona maintains context even when languages change

Customizing Language Behavior

While multilingual support works automatically, you can enhance or customize this behavior through persona instructions.

Adding Language Instructions

To ensure consistent language matching:

  1. Navigate to your persona in the MyPersonas tab
  2. Click Edit MyPersona
  3. Go to Basic Details
  4. In the Owner Bio section, add instructions such as:
    Please respond in the language that the user asked the question in.
    

Advanced Language Rules

You can add more specific instructions for language handling:

Always Respond in User's Language:

Always match the language of your response to the language used in the user's message.

Default to Specific Language:

Respond in Spanish unless the user writes in a different language.

Users can type in any language and receive responses in the same language:
